  • Clivia miniata citrina "Variegated" with yellow flowers, variegated leaves.

    These plants are fully mature. No two are quite alike, but all have variegated leaves (yellow stripes lengthwise). Flowers can range from salmon-pink to apricot to pink to light orange in color. Plants to ca. 30 inches high. Blooming size.

    Victorian Peach (c) copyright 2005 by Victor Murillo.  Reproduced by permission. Clivia miniata "Victorian Peach"® peach shades just received from Victor Murillo in California! These 2½-yr old plants have 6 to 10 leaves and have been growing in very small pots. We are potting them up to ca. ½-gal. pots. They should bloom in about spring 2007. We think these may belong to the Group 2 Yellow genetic group, but that remains to be proven.

Cryptostephanus

  • Cryptostephanus vansonii is a tropical African genus and species, closely related to Clivia. The foliage is evergreen, the leaves long, narrow, and pointed. The small flowers are white in color and about ½-inch across. Mature plants are only 10 - 15 inches high and grow nicely in a 2-gal. size container (i.e., a pot ca. 8½ in. in diameter by 8½ in. deep).

    Small seedling, in ca. 4-inch sq. pots. Catalog no. 1820, $20.00 per plant, plus shipping & handling. All plants shipped bare root.
    Medium seedling, in ca. ¾-gal. pots. Catalog no. 2175, $30.00 per plant, plus shipping & handling. All plants shipped bare root.


Leaf Width

We are going to use the following set of standards and abbreviations for discussing or describing leaf width in Clivia:

  • Extra Narrow (ENL) -- < 25 mm or 1 inch
  • Narrow Leaf (NL) -- 25 - 50 mm wide or 1 to 2 inches
  • Semi Broad Leaf (SBL) -- 51 - 75 mm wide or 2 to 3 inches
  • Broad Leaf (BL) -- 75 - 100 mm wide or 3 to 4 inches
  • Very Broad Leaf (VBL) -- 101 - 125 mm or 4 to 5 inches
  • Extra Broad Leaf (EBL) -- 126 - 150 mm or 5 to 6 inches
  • Ultra Broad Leaf (UBL) -- > 150 mm wide or 6 inches
