Clivia 'Mary Helen' was bred by David Jay Conway, Santa Barbara, California. This is a parti-color type, where the flower has several shades of salmon, pink, or other color of the anthocyanin pigment in the petals. On occasion, 'Mary Helen' has bloomed with pink parti-color flowers, without the yellow or orange undertones.
