Harvest Time

Starting Clivia Seeds in Arid Climates

Part 1

It is the last day of 2001 and I thought, I better get to picking the seeds for planting in 2002, it is just round the corner. As I got all the berries together I thought it may be a good idea, for the beginners I mean, it may be boring to the old hands, "been there, did it, got the T shirt" so if you do not want to know about seeds, don`t read Harvest Time.

Clivia berries I took a photo of all the berries put together, just to show the immense variation in the colour of the berries. These plants all grow under the same conditions, regards sun, water, rain etc.; but the berries differ remarkably. Of course the yellow clivia berries stand out being nice and yellow, but even they vary as we shall see later. In this image the berries are massed together under a scorching RSA sun.
