The Amaryllis Family: Hippeastrum aulicum

Hippeastrum aulicum is native to Brazil. While most South American species of "amaryllis" bloom during the northern winter or spring, H. aulicum blooms late in the northern summer after briefly going dormant in July, and perhaps August. This plant is near form stenopetalum.
