You can use our handy form to prepare your order, but then print it out and send to us by regular mail or fax (Fax: ++1-317-896-5126).

We ship orders within the U.S.A. by USPS Priority Mail. Orders to destinations outside the U.S.A. are shipped by Global Express Mail (EMS). Global Priority Mail and Global Express Guaranteed (GXG) service may be available at extra cost; inquire if interested.

In cold weather, we recommend shipping by Express Mail. Shipping and handling for the first plant would be about $28.00 for Express Second Day Guaranteed within the U.S. For each additional plant in the same shipment, add about $8.00 S&H. Insurance up to $100.00 in value is included. For insurance over $100, inquire.

Priority Mail shipping and handling charges as of January 1, 2005:

• First plant, 1-gallon size and smaller. $10.00
• Second plant, 1-gallon size and smaller. $5.00
• First plant, 2-gallon size. $14.00
• Second plant, 1-gallon size. $7.00

The customer may request shipping by a different carrier. For orders to be shipped by FedEx or DHL (UPS does not accept live plants), the shipping will be considerably higher and will be billed to the customer separately. The customer may incur added fees at the destination for clearing Customs on international orders carried by express services.

Estimate approximate shipping weight as 2 lbs. for packing materials; estimate an additional 2 lbs. per plant for each plant.

Insurance: We recomend that you have us insure your shipment. For Priority Mail, insurance is:

• First $50 -- $1.30
• Up to $100 -- $2.20
• Up to $150 -- $3.20
• Etc.

Shipments outside the USA can be insured at a rate of $1.00 fee per $100 insured value. Round total value up to next even hundred dollars.

If your shipment is not insured, the risk of damage during shipping is yours alone. Insurable amounts on overseas shipments may be limited, depending on country of destination.

Holding plants or seeds or reserving seeds: We do not hold seeds, bulbs or plants beyond the 3 or 4 days normally involved in an e-mail transaction to arrange an order and payment. If you wish to order for future delivery, we can do this only with payment in advance.

Payment by VISA, MasterCard, check or money order in US dollars payable to: Shields Gardens. Send cash through the mails at your own risk. Add shipping and handling as noted above. For shipments sent outside the USA, the charge is $35 for the first plant and $20 per additional plant, pending expected postal rate increases. Indiana residents add 6% Sales Tax.
