Jim Shields' Greenhouse Benches - Legs

Construction of plant benches is finished by adding sides.

Corner of sides strengthened with angle bracket. The sides are made of redwood 1 X 6 lumber. About 2¾ inch extends above the surface of the deck. The sides are screwed or nailed to the 2 X 4 frame of the deck. The corners are braced inside with angle brackets.
Benches in use outdoors This shows the benches as they are used in the lath house. Some benches are new, less than a year old; others have been in use for up to 10 to 15 years -- but all have been recently repainted.
