This is not a formal check list. It's just a list of what are probably valid species names for wild Hippeastrum. Until we get a thorough scholarly revision of the genus, which we hope Julie Dutilh and Alan Meerow are hard at work on, we will have to just do the best we can. This is such a "make-do" effort.
